Tucked away at a vantage point on the high hills of Wayanad is a quiet cocoon called Wayanad Coffee Trail Resort.

History of Wayanad

Wayanad district, Part of the Western Ghats is formed on 1 November 1980 as the 12th district of Kerala, Which is in the southern tip of the Deccan Plateau. The district is urbanised with three municipal towns kalpetta, Mananthavady and Sulthan Bathery. Historians says that the human settlement existed at Wayanad is for more than ten centuries before Christ
According to archaeological evidence, the Wayanad forest is inhabited for more than 3000 years. This land was ruled by the Rajas of the Veda tribe. Later, it came under the rule of the Kottayam royal dynasty. When Hyder Ali became the ruler of Mysore, he invaded Wayanad and brought it under his sway. Later Tipu sultan was handed over the entire Malabar region to the British.
